Ram offered to main configurations (mechanically) for their 3500 series trucks. The large difference is the “heavy Tow” package upgrade which encompasses the Asian Transmission, an upgrade from the 68rfe, especially for towing. HD axle upgrades for additional cooling, in bed tow connections, Reverse Cam, along with a few other upgrades. The Aisin transmission is the prime automatic for continuous heavy towing. The is a much more sizable setup than the 68RFE.
